Commentary:

Prager Morgenpost 22/6/1863 published news that: ‘The Prague Men’s Singing Society arranges tomorrow Tuesday at 8.30[am] in the high parish church of Tein [Týn], for its member, the late Mayor Mr Franz Pstross, a vocal Requiem.’

A brief report of this event appeared in Prager Morgenpost 24/6/1863. The correspondent remarked: ‘Requiem. The Requiem arranged by the Prague Men’s Singing Society for its member the late Mayor Pstross was yesterday solemnly celebrated in the high parish church of Týn by Mr P. Heinrich with assistants. The church was decorated in black, in the chancel [Hauptschiffe] stood a great catafalque with the coats of arms of the deceased. The Men’s Singing Society, with many members [mit starker Besetzung], performed
Horák’s Vocal Requiem in excellent fashion.’
