First published without opus number as supplement to Dalibor 10/2/1860. Here the title was given in addition to Impromptu sur un air napolitain, also in the Czech form: Impromptu na nápěv neapolský. The work was later published in Prague by Hoffmann with the opus number 54 and solely with the French title.
