Antonio Caldara

Caldara, Antonio (1670-1736). Venetian composer. Pupil of Legrenzi. Travelled widely, working in Rome and Madrid, and then eventually settling in Vienna in 1716. Compositions include around 100 operas and much church music, as well as instrumental and chamber works.
