Adolf von Henselt

Henselt, Adolf von (1814-1889). German pianist and composer. Pupil of Hummel at Weimar. Toured Germany in 1836 and then settled in St Petersburg. Appointed pianist to he Russian Imperial Court. He wrote primarily for the piano, including many transcriptions of works by other composers.
