Josef Richard Rozkošný

Rožkošný, Josef Richard (1833-1913). Pianist and composer. Studied philosophy at Prague University, and also engineering and painting. He was an accomplished pianist at an early age. He later worked as a bank official but composed assiduously and gained local success in Prague with his Czech operas. His first published composition was a salon piece for the piano La chasse, caprice de concert issued by the Prague publisher Hoffmann in 1854.
