Karel Eugen Tupý

Jablonský, Boleslav (1813-1881). Czech poet and priest, actual name Karel Eugen Tupý. Studied philosophy in Prague, and later entered the monastery at Strahov where he was ordained as Boleslav Jablonský. He took a particular interest in Czech literature, was associated with Tyl, and composed important books of Czech lyric and patriotic poetry, providing material for native composers.
