Gottfried August Homilius

Homilius, Gottfried August (1714-1785). German composer and organist. Pupil of Bach in Leipzig, appointed organist in Dresden in 1742 and music director of the three main churches there in 1755. Compositions comprise mainly church music, including many motets.
