Chellard, ? Probably Chelard, Hippolte (André Jean Baptiste) (1789-1861). French violinist, conductor and composer. Studied at the Paris Conservatoire and after winning the Prix de Rome studied church music in Rome and then worked at the opera in Naples. In 1818 he returned to Paris, becoming a violinist in the Paris Opéra and then producing operas there. He settled in Munich in 1830 and apart from a visit to London 1832-1833 to conduct German opera, he remained there for the rest of his life.
