Albín Mašek
Maschek
Mašek, Albín (1804-1878). Studied violoncello at the Prague Conservatory but failed to complete the course. Developed a career as an organist and choir director instead, working in several Prague churches including the Týn Church (1833-1859) and then at St Nicholas Church in the Malá strana until his death. Composed much church music for practical, everyday use in addition to some occasional large-scale masses and other pieces.
