Heinrich August
Marschner, Heinrich August (1795-1861). German composer and conductor. Settled in Bratislava in 1816 where he began to compose operas. In 1823 became assistant conductor to C.M. von Weber in Dresden, in 1827 conductor in the Leipzig Theatre and in 1831 court conductor at Hanover. Output includes many works for the stage, several orchestral works, songs and male voice choruses.
