Franz Peter Schubert

Schubert, Franz Peter (1797-1828). Austrian composer. Lived almost his whole life in Vienna where he eventually gained modest success in the 1820s as a song composer. In Prague his more well-known songs regularly appeared in concert programmes throughout the nineteenth century; works in other genres – such as his chamber music – began to gain performances during the 1850s and 1860s.
