Julius Benedict

Benedict, Julius (1804-1885). German conductor and composer. Pupil of Hummel and C.M. von Weber. For a decade (1823-34) conductor of the Kärntnertor Theater in Vienna. In 1835 he moved to London where he spent the remainder of his life conducting and composing.
