Prager Morgenpost 20/10/1863 reprted that ‘The Cecilia Society [Der Cäcilien-Verein] begins the 24th year of its concerts and prepares for performance therein the following great compositions: Requiem by Cherubini, Antigone by Mendelssohn-Bartholdy and Die Ruinen von Athen by Beethoven, then scenes from Gluck’s „Orpheus“ and individual pieces from the high Mass by Bach. – The concert rehearsals will start from Thursday 22nd for singers and Monday 26th for orchestra, weekly on these days at 6pm in the Society venue, where as well as the active members, newly joined gentlmen musical dilettantes can register on both mentioned days in the Society locale (Bartholäigasse Nr.308 at the City of Jerusalem).
