Prager Morgenpost 21/5/1863 announced the departure that morning of the Emperor Ferdinand from Prague to his summer residence of Ploskovice. The report related that during the previous evening the musical ensembles of regiments garrisoned in Prague performed a serenade. The venue was not noted but was almost certainly the within Hradčany where Ferdinand resided when in Prague.

The source reported: ‘His Majesty the Emperor Ferdinand leaves Prague today, 21st May, at 9am by means of a special train from Bubeneč station for, firstly, the Summer Residence at Ploskowitz [Ploskovice]. For the occasion of the departure, the military music ensembles of the here-garrisoned regiments of His Majesty [the emperor Franz Josef] gave a musical serenade.’ No further details were given by this source. The musical ensembles would at this time have been drawn from regiments including those of Count Gyulai, Archduke Sigismund.
