News of this event appeared in advertisements published in Národní listy for a series of dance entertainments and a ball arranged by the orchestra of the Prague Sharpshooters Corps. The text was published four times by the newspaper, on 9/1, 11/1, 14/1 and 16/1/1861. The text noted that ʻTickets for gentlemen to the dance entertainments as well as to the ball arranged by the band of the Sharpshooters on 17th, 24th and 31st January, then on 11th February 1861 at Žofín, are possible to obtain everyday from the offices of the Sharpshooters, no.404-I.’ News was published of the occasion on 31/1/1861.
A brief review of this event was published by Prager Morgenpost 3/2/1861. This reported that ‘The last Reunion of the Civil Sharpshooters Corps, which took place on Thursday night in the Žofín Island Hall, made a worthy finale to these dance entertainments. The attendance was even more numerous than at both the earlier reunions. The decoration of the large hall was really tasteful in blue and white, the dance programme showed great variety. The Sharpshooter’s Ball takes place on 11th February on Žofín Island.’
