Commentary:

Tagesbote aus Böhmen 5/10/1857 reported that the musical ensemble of the local Sharpshooters Regiment serenaded Franz Horsky on the eve of his nameday. Horsky was described as of the gentlemen of the ‘Wirthschaftsrath’ [lit. Economic Council]. He was evidently being honoured as an honorary statesman of the city, an ‘Ehrerhauptmann’, for which 3 officers of the Corps presented him with a magnificent commemorative album comprising a decorative title page, a profound poem, and the signatures of the Corps’s officers. No details of the musical content of the occasion were given.
