Joseph Philip Knight

Knight, Joseph Philip (1812-1887). English clergyman, organist and composer. During his early career he was organist of Bristol Cathedral. During the 1820s he began to publish songs under the pseudonym Philip Mortimer, gaining considerable success. In 1839 he visited the USA and was fêted there too for his compositions.
