Karl Gottfried Wilhelm Vilém

Taubert, Wilhelm (1811-1891). German pianist, composer and conductor. Lived almost all his life in Berlin where he was a student of the University, became Prussian Court Pianist, in 1841 became conductor of the Royal Opera and in 1845 was appointed music director at the Royal Court. Composed in most contemporary genres including at least 6 operas, incidental music, church music, orchestral and chamber works as well as piano works and numerous songs, partsongs and choruses.
