Karl Maria, Freiherr Kappel von

Savenau, Carl Maria Count von (1837-1916). Czech composer and writer about music. Born in Prague. Graduate of the Organ School in 1864 whereupon he moved to Vienna to work at the Court Library. From 1870 settled in Graz as composer and also as music critic of the Austrian newspaper Tagespost. His compositions include melodramas, chamber music, piano works and songs.
