Řebíček, Josef (1844-1904). Czech violinist. Studied at the Prague Conservatory under Mildner (1855-1861). After graduating he passed two years in the court orchestra in Weimar before returning to Prague to lead the orchestra of the Provisional Theatre (1863-1865) and then the German Theatre (1865-1868). Subsequently he moved abroad and began to develop a career as a conductor, which culminated in his directing the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra (1897).
