Commentary:

Der Tagesbote 3/5/1854 reported that ‘Yesterday was celebrated the Foundation-festival of the Josefov High School [Josefstädter Hauptschule] in the said Institute’s examination hall. Following a festival reading by the Director and after the singing together of the National Anthem poor school children were given a gift of money.’
