Commentary:

Lumír 14/8/1851 published news that on the day of the Emperor’s birthday, 18th August, ‘a great concert would be given to benefit the Prague Institute for Infants, in which will participate members of the former concert orchestra and Miss Beutlova, former pupil of the local Conservatory and now a member of the Vienna court theatre’. No further mention of this event appeared in contemporary sources, suggestion the concer did not take place. No mention of a venue was made by the Lumír text. The reference to the ‘former concert orchestra’ is notable. The ‘Prague Concert Orchestra’ founded earlier that summer was evidently disbanded by the time of this event.
