News appeared in the Lokalzeitung section of Bohemia 28/10/1851 that ‘The Ball, which for the benefit of the Czech National Theatre in Prague on 29th October in the Konvikt Hall was arranged, has now been postponed until 4th November.’ This information was noted to be reported from the Czech sister paper of Prager Zeitung, Pražské noviny. The Tagesanzeiger text of Bohemia 4/11/1851 confirmed the date and venue of this event.

Lumír 6/11/1851 reported that the ‘Day before yesterday was in the Konvikt a ball to benefit the Czech National Theatre, which was arranged by Mr Josef Bendl, the victualer at the Konvikt who from patriotism not only the hall but also the lighting and entire decoration has provided free of charge, for which our heartfelt thanks are due. The dance master Mr Feigert directed the dances, also for free.’
