Advance details of this event were published in the Lokalzeitung section of Bohemia 31/7/1851. This noted that on August 1st at 9am and 3pm the examinations of pupils of the Žofín Academy would take place. The source reported that the teaching of song to the first class [i.e. the lower or first year class] was by Mr Nedwěd [Nedvěd]. The second class was taught by the Academy’s Director, Horák and teaching of pianoforte was given by Mr Graf. No other information about this event was published by this source. Although not specifically stated by the source, the event was almost certainly open to a public audience as was the case in other years  the Academy’s activity.

The Tagesanzeiger texts published by Bohemia 31/7/1851 and 1/8/1851 reported the date and venue of this production, noting in addition that the examinations of the first class were to take place at 9am and those of the second class at 3pm.
