Advance information about this event was published in a report appearing in the Lokalzeitung section of Bohemia 8/8/1850. The source related that on Saturday 10th August on Žofín Island would be ‘a great Music-production given by the Kaiser-Artillery Regiment [Franz-Joseph Artillery Regiment] and by the 13th Jäger Battalion (the latter for the first time), for the benefit of fire victims in the city of Krakau [Krakow].’ The event would include ‘the performance of a great military tone-picture by Kapellmeister Swoboda [Svoboda] under the title “Der Feldherr Radetzky” [Die Schlacht bei Novara]. Admission cards, not inclusive of any contribution to the good cause, were available for 6kr from the art and music shop of J. Hoffmann.

The Tagesanzeiger texts of Bohemia 8/8/1850 and 9/8/1850 stated that on ‘Saturday, 10th August. Afternoon on the Žofín Island: Music production for the benefit of fire victims in Krakow.’
