Prager Zeitung 31/1/1850 published a large advertisement announcing that Sunday 3rd February 1850 in the Žofín Hall would take place this Society Ball [Gesellschafts-Ball] for the benefit of the Prague Institute for the Education and well-being of Poor Blind Children [Prager Privat-Erziegungs- und Heilinstituts für arme blinde Kinder]. Giving their services free for the occasion were noted to be Mr Friedrich Feigert, the Theatre and Chamber dance-teacher who would direct the dances, and Mr Wenzel Nowotny [Václav Novotný], the proprietor of the venue, who had provided the use of the Island Hall without charge. A list of shops and tradespeople from where entrance tickets could be purchased for 1zl was noted, together with the note that admission cards could also be purchased from the venue box office on the day of the event at 7pm. No further details were given by the source.
