Bohemia 27/1/1850 pubished a notice that the musical trial for the Society Ball given by the dance-teacher Ružička was to take place on 2nd February at 4pm in the Platteys Hall [Platýz]. Music was to be given by the ensemble of the Imperial First Field Artillery Regiment of Franz Josef. The programme was noted to contain ‘many interesting novelties.’ Details of the date, time and venue of the event were listed in the Tagesanzeiger texts of Bohemia 31/1/1850, 1/2/1850 and 3/2/1850.

On 19/2/1850 Bohemia published a notice signed by ‘Ein Ballgast’ about this Society Ball, which it stated took place on 9/2/1850. The correspondent complimented Ružička on the occasion and in particular for the orderly dance entertainment of 400 guests in the ‘little hall’. The decoration and arrangement were praised too, with the note that Ružička did not make any profit from the event but provided his friends with an enjoyable evening.
