Commentary:

Tagesbote aus Böhmen 25/11/1857 reported that ‘On Saturday [28/11/1857] at 11.30am takes place in the Žofín Island Hall an orchestral production of the musical ensemble of the Archduke Ernst Line Infantry Regiment. They will give 10 pieces, amongst which will be performed the Liechtenstein March by Strauß, the Overtures to Zigeunerin and to Stradella, and two Csardas etc.’ The same issue of the newspaper also reported that this ensemble had been invited to perform Hungarian folk music in national costume in the Royal Apartments on Hradčany before the Emperor Ferndinan.’
