Der Tagesbote 23/4/1854 reported that ‘Yesterday took place the concert of the 1st Prague Concert Band; it was the one hundred and fiftieth [event] of the concert season, and hence that explained the not very numerous attendance and the not over-exuberant atmosphere. Mr Brož gained great applause, adroitly performing the Piccolo-Fantasie of Ernst.’ The source also reported that the event marked the public debut of Miss Taussig. The ensemble performing on this occasion would have been the First Prague Civil Musical Ensemble [1. Prager Civilkapelle] of Schäde which, annually from 1851, was assembled in the late spring for the purpose of performing musical entertainments at popular society venues during the summer season.
