The Prager Morgenpost 05/01/1859 news announcement noted that this was the farewell performance given by the Remmele family before they were to leave Prague. This was also made clear by the advertisement for this event published in that newspaper on 6/1/1859. However another performance, also noted to be their final appearance before leaving Prague, was given by the ensemble on 7/1/1859. Just over a week later on 18/1/1859 the singers appeared again in the Hopfenstock Restaurant; on 20/1/1859 another ‘Final’ concert by them was advertised in Prager Morgenpost as taking place in the Archduke Leopold Restaurant in the Karolinenthal. Two more appearances were advertised by Prager Morgenpost 22/1/1859, the second of these with a note from the ensemble bidding farewell to Prague. This also proved premature for they then appeared in the Platteis Guest House on 27/1/1859.

The event given on 06/01/1859 was noted by the Morgenpost 06/01/1859 advertisement as beginning at 5pm and ending after midnight. Admission was to cost 12kr. Interestingly, another advertisement appeared in that issue of the newspaper stating simply ‘Convict-Hall! Today Public Ball. Entrance at 6pm. Ends the following morning.’ Whether this relates to the event outlined above with Wernhardt’s ensemble of musicians, or whether it is simply an older advertisement not deleted from the newspaper after the Wernhardt/Remmele production had been established, is not clear.
