Prager Morgenpost 30/11/1863 published advance news of this event, noting: ‘In the German Casino the next Ladies Evening [Damen-Abend] takes place on 3rd December; in order to avoid a crown only 200 tickets have been issued. When they are exhausted then tickets for the next Ladies Evening may be applied for.’ The Tagesanzeiger daily almanac of Prague social and musical events published by Prager Morgenpost 3/12/1863 announced: ‘Second Ladies Evening in the German Casino’. A review, signed ‘n.’, of the evening was then published by Prager Morgenpost 4/12/1863, reporting: ‘The second Ladies Evening of the German Casino surpassed the first in entertainment and amusement, and enriched by the more expedient organization. The smoking ban, which on the last occasion depressed onerously the male audience, was lifted after 10 o’clock and the ladies were protected from the tobacco scent in a closed private salon. Of the fair sex numerous representative had gathered... The musical-declamatory part of the evening offered a rich variety. Mr Bachmann and Mr Krén sang Lieder. The latter, in addition to the excellence of his singing, earned particular approbation, for he had at the eleventh hour willingly agreed to participate in the evening, Miss Raabe having suddenly cancelled. Miss Proksch played a concert piece on the piano, Mr Hallenstein declaimed, the German singing society „Flöte“ gave several Lieder with usual precision. The individual pieces received great applause, the artists approbation.’

These ‘Ladies Evenings’ of the Casino were evidently a success. Prager Morgenpost 15/12/1863 reported that the Committee of the Casino had also just decided to allow its members to bring their spouses with them to events in which was to be performing the popular salon orchestra of Komzák. Possibly, an Komzák also performed on these Ladies Evening occasions.
