Prager Morgenpost 19/3/1863 published advance news of this concert, reporting: ‘A Musical-Declamatory Academy [Eine musikalisch-deklamatorische Akademie] for the benefit of the Institute for the Care and Employment of the Blind will take place on Saturday, 21st March at 4pm, in the Hall of the Žofín Island. The programme is as follows: 1. Overture to „Oberon“ by C.M. Weber. 2. Fantasie brillante über die beliebte Aria „das Alpenhorn“ by H. Proch, composed for piano by Theod. Döhler, performed by Miss Anna von Altenburger. 3. a) „Bože můj, otče můj“, old Slavic Lied; b) „Píseň na sebe“ by J.T. Krow [Krov], sung by Mr Schwarz [Švarc]. 4. „Saltarelle“ by Alard, for violin, performed Miss Hildegarde Kirchner. 5. „Der Bettelknabe“ by J.G. Seidel, spoken by Miss Charlotte Gebhardt. 6. „Plavba“ by Vogl, sung by Mr Vinz. Vecko. 7. „Elegie“ by Ernst for violin, performed by Miss Hildegarde Kirchner. 8. „Walzer“ by Venzano, sung by Miss Jenny Brenner [Brennerová]. 9. „Komm du schönes Fischermädchen“, melody by Meyerbeer, Improvisation by Karl Wehle [Charles Wehle], performed by Miss Anna von Altenburger. 10. Overture to „Ruy Blas“ by Mendelssohn-Bartholdy. The piano by Streicher will be generously loaned for this occasion by Mr Bernhard Kohn.’ A precisely identical report appeared in Prager Zeitung 20/3/1863.
