Františka Wagnerová
Wagner, Franziska (1829-1895). Actress and soprano singer. Pupil of the singing school of the Prague Conservatory (1846-1850). According to Bohemia 27/9/1850 she first appeared in a rôle on the Estates Theatre stage on 24/9/1850 as Giulietta in Montecchi und Capuletti [Bellini’s I Capuleti e i Montecchi]. She was active in Prague during the early 1850s in concerts and in the Estates Theatre. Der Tagesbote 26/7/1854 reported her forthcoming engagement to work at the Theatre in Braunschweig [Brunswick], much to the disappointment of the audiences of both the local German and Czech opera. Later that year Mercy’s Anzeiger 23/9/1854 noted that she would perform on Sunday 24th September in the Estates Theatre in a Czech performance for her benefit, before her departure from Prague.
