Commentary:

Prager Zeitung 10/7/1850 quoted news from 9th July in its sister newspaper Prager Noviny that yesterday ‘a fine military festival [ein schönes musikalisches Fest]’ was celebrated. Thirty two men from the Regiment of Airoldi were awarded various medals by the Archduke Leopold. A parade was noted to have taken place with music, although no further details of this were given. The location of the event was not specified. Large scale military parades often took place in the Old Town Square [Staroměstské náměstí] or, less frequently, at the Castle [Hradčany], and the former has been adopted for the database record.
