Commentary:

On 19/2/1850 Bohemia published a notice signed by ‘Ein Ballgast’ about this Society Ball, which it stated took place on 9/2/1850. The correspondent complimented Ružička on the occasion and in particular for the orderly dance entertainment of 400 guests in the ‘little hall’. The decoration and arrangement were praised too, with the note that Ružička did not make any profit from the event but provided his friends with an enjoyable evening.

A musical rehearsal for this event was given on 2/2/1850. A notice published by Bohemia 27/1/1850 noted that
the programme was to contain ‘many interesting novelties.’ The ensemble performing in the trial - and therefore presumably in the actual Ball, although this is not noted by the later sources - was that of the Imperial First Field Artillery Regiment of Franz Josef.
